The Jupiter wreck project – free enterprise shipwreck recovery

American, born 10 May 1949. Captain / Master Mariner, Educated in the United States; B.S. in Education and Economics from Northeastern University in 1964.
This project aims to recover a 330-year old shipwreck that changed the development of the New World and Europe. It is also the scene of conflict between state regulation and bureaucracy and enterprising individuals, and the project sees the Jupiter Wreck story as an international testing ground between the contrasting “Rewards System Approach” and the punitive approach of the US Abandoned Shipwreck Act of 1987.
